About Tranquility Villa - Montego Bay Jamaica

The well-appointed rooms of Tranquility stretch over 6,300 square feet of rich marble floors. Artful landscaping ensures year-round flowers in bloom which in turn ensure regular visits from hummingbirds and parrots. The grounds resemble a private park dotted with mango, guava, banana, plantain, lime, soursop, apple and papaya trees.

The entrance draws you past an indoor waterfall garden as you approach the spacious Great Room which opens to an 86' furnished verandah. Meals are served by the butler on the verandah overlooking two acres of landscaped grounds and the sea ~ or served in the inside formal dining room ~ or, as a special treat, served in the romantic waterfront gazebo by candlelight. On calm nights, two or three local fishermen may ease through the water beyond the gazebo carrying torches and laying nets for the fresh catch they will deliver to your chef the next morning. The overall ambiance is quite beautiful.

Two large master suites are privately located in a wing on the east end of the villa. Two smaller bedrooms are beyond the living room on the west end of the villa. The fifth, sixth & seventh bedrooms are in the Beach Cottage across the lawn on the water’s edge. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. The state-of-the-art kitchen in the main house includes a 6-burner Vulcan gas stove, microwave and double fridge with ice maker.

Meals here merit special attention. Chef Danny has extensive experience in a number of cuisines including Italian, Spanish and Jamaican. He received his formal training in Italy and has been Head Chef at several of Montego Bay's better restaurants. Danny's experience and creativity, as well as his willingness to create menus to suit special requests, make the culinary part of everyone’s stay at Tranquility something to savor.
A formal herb garden is steps from the kitchen and provides the Chef with fresh herbs and vegetables for your meals. His fresh kale and spinach soup can be a healthy and delicious way to start one of your dinners.

The main villa has 3 bedrooms, and 3 baths, 2 of these bedrooms have french doors that lead to a very large furnished veranda for lounging reading or having a cocktail at sunset. There is a large living room and dining room in the main villa. The beach front cottage has a master bedroom upstairs with a "second story" private cobblestone veranda just steps from your bed, a large en-suite marble bath with "oversize" walk-in shower. On the ground level of this cottage there is a 2nd smaller bedroom along with living room with Sat. TV and sound system, full kitchen with microwave, and beach front terrace. There is a powder room on the ground level of the cottage. Not to be forgotten is a private beach side dining gazebo, also just steps from your, newly enlarged freshwater swimming pool. The owner provides two sea kayaks for your enjoyment!

Have a group?  Add Serenity Villa right next door for an additional 3 or 4 bedrooms.

Accommodations
Master Bedroom 1
King size 4-poster bed. Flat screen cable television. 4 pairs of mahogany French doors to veranda. Modern en-suite bathroom features handsome gray and tan tile open shower with twin rain forest shower jets. Just steps from the pool.

Master Bedroom 2
King size bed . 400-square-foot suite with flat screen cable television. En-suite bathroom has bathtub plus separate walk-in shower. French doors open to private furnished veranda. 3 steps down and path to pool, gazebo and beach.

Bedroom 3
Optional king size or twin beds. en-suite bathroom with double vanity, walk-in shower and wonderful second very private shower in outdoor walled garden. French doors open from bedroom to veranda.

Bedroom 4
Optional king size or twin beds; en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. French doors to private patio, grounds and tennis court.

Beach Cottage
Bedrooms 5 & 6
Designed as the owners’ private quarters, this is an exquisite 2-story cottage right next to the sea. Downstairs are the living room, kitchen with microwave, VCR and cable television, sound system, small extra bedroom with with queen size bed, hall bathroom and walk-in shower. The lower level opens to a private terrace on the edge of the beach where meals are served if only the Beach Cottage is occupied. (If more than two guests are in residence, all meals are served on the main house veranda, although eye-opener coffee and fruit may be served at the Beach Cottage.) Upstairs are the king size bedroom, over-the-beach balcony with lounges for sunning or star-gazing, and large en-suite marble bath with oversize walk-in shower.

Bedroom 7
This bedroom connects the upstairs to the Master Bedroom in the Cottage and provides another convenient parent-child suite. 

Only suitable for children and does not have a closet.



The homeowner of Tranquility does not permit weddings or any other hospitality events.
Group dinners are welcome with sister villas Serenity and Noble House when all three villas are reserved together.

If you’ve left your pets behind, please note that Tranquility is home to a friendly dog named Gus.
He is not permitted in the house or on the verandah, his accommodations are an on-site kennel area.
But Gus does spend days in the yard and on the beach, and the staff cares for him. He is gentle, well-behaved and loves guests if you want to interact with him.

Notes: Tranquillity is located on a beautiful stretch of beach however the beach may encounter increased seaweed or reduced water clarity during the rainy seasons in May and October. This may also occur with fluctuating ocean currents and weather patterns.  Thank you for your understanding.

The entire staff was very friendly, inviting, and attentive.
Chef Danny was accommodating to all of our needs and requests. ALL of the meals he served were excellent. Butler Leeford went above and beyond catering to all of our requests and needs. He worked very long hours always with a smile on his face. He even acted as our photographer one evening to take group pictures. The maid and laundress all arrived with smiles on their faces and kept the home and our clothes clean. The gardeners kept the grounds clean and beautiful, also with smiles on their faces.
